How to Use the intoGo App

Posted on Updated:

Do you ever find yourself looking for ideas to entertain your friends or family? Ever wonder what events are going on this weekend or who’s playing where? How about finding that special place for a first date or maybe finding the right place to ask the big question? Are you into nature, but not sure where to look for information on hiking, kayaking or local parks? What about catching up with your friends and making it a night on the town or just finding a great place to hang out for beer and pizza. If you’ve asked yourself any of these questions, then the intoGo app is perfect for you.

We developed the intoGo app to help people find fun things to do fast and easy. To begin with, intoGo has two modes: Swiping through things to do or Selecting a Category

When you open the app, intoGo presents you with a random deck of things to do from events to businesses or places to go.  You then swipe on the screen to sort the recommendations. If you like it, swipe to the right.  If you don’t, swipe left.  If you swipe down, this indicates you love this listing enough to save it to your favorites.  If you aren’t sure, swipe up to skip or tap the screen to dive deeper and see more information.  It’s that easy to sort through places and events in Jacksonville.

However, swiping won’t tell you where to go for lunch or happy hour.  Nor will it tell you what to do this weekend or where to take your kids.  That’s why we have the “Let’s Go” tab at the bottom right.  Tap this button and you will be presented with a number of awesome categories that make finding the very thing you are looking for a breeze.  Under “Let’s Go” you’ll find everything from Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner to Happy Hour Local Events and Family fun, just to name a few.

One of the coolest features is being able to filter your results by the distance you’re willing to travel.  For example, if you get the itch to go for Sunday Brunch, you can select a 2-mile radius to get every listing in that category that’s close to home.  Or, you can broaden the distance to 30-miles to generate a list of every place serving Brunch in town.  Since the listings are generated via your phone’s GPS, this means you will get a different list when you are at home, as opposed to being at work.

If you’re a sports fanatic, tap the Jacksonville Sports category and intoGo will bring up a list of all your favorite local sports teams.  One more tap takes you to the team’s schedule where you can view information on upcoming games and buy tickets.  The Sports & Recreation category, on the other hand, provides you with a complete list of recreational activities such as tennis, basketball, baseball or soccer. You can filter these recreational activities to find basketball within 2-miles or any other sport within a specified distance.

To make sorting through the listings even easier, many of our categories have built-in sub categories.  So, if you tap on “A Night on the Town,” you can further refine your search by tapping a subcategory at the top such as “Bars, Night Clubs, Dance Clubs, Hookah Lounges, Wine Bars, Cigar Bars, Sports Bars, Pubs, Breweries, Dive Bars, Gastropubs” Select one and you’re now sorting your city by that category and selected distance.

Once you find something you like, it couldn’t be easier to find additional information about any business, place or event.  By tapping on a result, you will see tons of information, including photos, menu, hours of operations, and phone number, not to mention reviews and even Facebook posts. You can also add the listing to your favorites just by tapping on the “SAVE IT” button at the top of the page.

Also included in the intoGo app is a list of all the coolest events in town.  Whether you are looking for something to do this month or this week, two taps bring you the exact information you seek without a lot of effort.  Are you interested in listening to local bands?  Not only do we have every concert booked in Jacksonville under one category, but you can further refine your search by sorting via genre.  This means whether you are into rock or country, two taps are all it takes to get your fix.  One more tap lets you buy tickets to any event.  What could be easier?

The intoGo app also makes it easy to follow your favorite local venues. Looking for a few laughs? All it takes is two taps, the first on “Local Venues” and the second on “The Comedy Zone” to see which comedians are going to be featured there for the next few months.  Go further down the listings, and you will find “You Might Also Like” that reveals other locations in town where you can check out comedy acts, as well as where to go after the show is over.

The intoGo app is extremely easy to use.  You either swipe through fun things to do, which lets you discover cool places in your community, or you tap on Let’s Go to help you find fun fast.  The more you use the app, the better intoGo gets, since it quickly learns what you like and keeps this information right at your fingertips.

How In-App Advertising Works for Businesses

Posted on Updated:

Want to make sure people are finding you on the intoGo app? Want to make sure those 400 likes becoming 400 visits to your business? Or maybe you’re trying to make sure you’re getting the engagement and online purchases from the intoGo app? If so, read on and learn how the intoGo app works and what benefits it provides your business.

The intent of intoGo is to help our users find places to go and spend their money.  They open intoGo specifically to look for things to do and places to go.  This presents a number of opportunities for businesses to steer individuals and families right to their door.  We’re talking about online matchmaking for businesses at its finest.

While your business may already be listed on intoGo, there are many advantages to boosting your business’ visibility by becoming a promoted partner. Boosting your business on intoGo means showing up in places you normally wouldn’t.  Just like Facebook, Google and Yelp, every relevant business is included in our database, but those businesses that want more visibility can take advantage of premium placement.  What this means on intoGo is that for every ten swipes we show a promoted partner, while any business that is not promoted only shows up once. This means promoted partners show up much more frequently in the swipe deck.

The second way that promoted partners get more visibility is that they get placed at the top of a relevant category.  Click on any intoGo category, and you will see two promoted partners at the top of the results.  The remainder of the results below them can run into hundreds of relevant businesses.  If your business is not promoted, you can see how easy it would be to get lost in the shuffle. Promoted partners, on the other hand, have a distinct advantage since they stay top of page and top of mind.

The other place that promoted partners have an edge is on their competitor’s pages.  If a business is not a promoted partner, whenever an intoGo user clicks on their listing, an area appears for other similar businesses in the “You Might Also Like” section.  This section is a user-generated list of results meaning users who like your business also like these. Promoted partners will have premium placement within this section providing they fall into these user generated results.

Want to Block the Competition?

On the other hand, with our Pathfinder promotional package, a promoted partner will block competing businesses from appearing on your page.  That’s because included with the Pathfinder package is the exclusion of the “You Might Also Like” area.  The last thing we want to do is point a customer to a business similar to yours and this feature ensures that never happens.

Becoming a promoted partner also allows businesses to do other things designed to turn our users into your customers.  Want to add a call-to-action button to your listing?  Our Pioneer, Pathfinder and Voyager packages allow you to do just that.  Want to add a coupon and notify all your intoGo fans about it?  No problem, since the Pioneer, Pathfinder, and Voyager promotional packages allow you to do that as well.  These three packages also unlock all the analytics, which will help you hone your page so you can attract even more customers.

Best of all, becoming a promoted partner on intoGo is both user-friendly and cost-effective.  If you’re interested in learning more about how intoGo can help you generate more exposure and get more customers, fill out the form below.  Because when it comes to helping Jacksonville residents find fun faster, it doesn’t get any easier than intoGo.

It’s Quick & Easy to Leverage intoGO

Be sure to visit www.intoGo.com and click “Manage My Business”. From there you can claim your intoGo page and edit the information within. Events, Venues and Performances

Instead of taking the time to comb through local media looking for fun things to do and places to go, intoGo pulls together all the events, venues and performances occurring in North Florida into one easy to use app.  Then it lets you decide what, when and how you want this information displayed.

If you want to learn more about the intoGo Events Platform, make sure you watch the video above.   Happy swiping!

Managing your business on intoGo.

Posted on Updated:

Managing your business listing is easy on intoGo. To get started, you’ll need to go to visit www.intoGo.com.  From there, you’ll see a green button that reads, “Manage My Business.”  Clicking on the button will take you to the registration page which asks for your contact information, along with a password of your choice.  Click register, and you’ll create your free business account on intoGo.

Claiming Your Business

The next step in promoting your business is to click on the “Claim Business” button at the top of the page.  This spawns a search box that allows you to search for your business by name.  Once the system finds your business, click on “Claim Listing.”  If you don’t find your business, you can click “Add it Now,” so we can add your business to intoGo.

Next, you’ll be presented with your business’ phone number at the top of the page.  Make sure this is the correct number.  If it isn’t the correct number, fill in the box below the words, “NOT YOUR BUSINESS PHONE NUMBER?  Insert the correct phone number here.”  Make sure you are near your business phone because the intoGo is going to call you with a pin number.  Click “Call to Verify, ” and you will receive a call in less than a minute.

While you’re waiting for the phone call, you also need to check the box that certifies you are an authorized representative of the business.  After you enter the 6-digit pin, click on the “Verify PIN” button, and you will be taken to your personal dashboard. (See the video below for more details.)

Optimizing Your Free Listing

As soon as you enter your business dashboard you’ll see the traffic for your listing including any category under which it is listed.  You can then see a preview of your listing by clicking on the “Preview” tab.  Next, you should click on the “Business Info” tab so you can verify that all the information about your business is correct and up to date.  You may also add links to all your social sites.  If you operate a restaurant, this is the time and place to add your menu.

The “Hours” tab is the place to show what days and times you are open for business.  The bar at the top of the page allows you to quickly update your entire weekly schedule with just a few clicks.

The “Attributes” tab helps you tell our audience all kinds of things about your business, including available parking and ambiance, to the type of structure in which your business is located and where to find parking.

Last but not least, you can add one free coupon to your listing to help incentivize prospects into giving your establishment a try.  (If you want to find out about adding more coupons, see the “Promoting Your Business on intoGo” video below.

V pizza – putting the pizzazz in pizzas

Posted on Updated:

When it comes to putting the pizzazz in pizzas, V Pizza has it in spades. That’s because they have the one element that no other pizzeria in Jacksonville has: Authentic wood-burning pizza ovens imported straight from Naples, Italy. To say that this makes a difference in their pizza is an understatement. It makes all the difference. So much so that the three ovens are literally the ONLY cooking devices in all 3 Jacksonville V Pizza locations.
The story of V Pizza began when Paul and Chris went to Italy in 2008. They fell in love with Neapolitan pizza, which they soon discovered on their return to JAX was nowhere to be found in North Florida. Thus was born the idea for V Pizza. To take the restaurant from concept to reality was no easy task. In order to produce an authentic Neapolitan pizza, you have to start with authentic Neapolitan pizza ovens.

The ovens you will find at every V Pizza are hand-built in Naples, Italy by the Ferrara family, who have built wood-fired pizza ovens for three generations. One of the tricks of the trade is the use of clay from Mt. Vesuvius. That’s right, the same volcano that buried Pompeii 2,000 years ago also provides the 1-of-a-kind ingredient that makes Neapolitan pizza ovens special. It also gives the Ferrara’s ovens the ability to maintain a 1,000-degree temperature for hours on end.

“Once we light the ovens up and get them tempered, we literally never turn them off… ever!” David explained to me recently. “At night, we bank the fire and close the ovens up. When we open up the next day, the ovens are still at 450-500 degrees. We simply start adding wood and are ready to cook pizzas in an hour or so.”

The ovens at V Pizza are so special that they have names like Amore, Spiaggia and La Palude. They also have personalities all their own. For instance, they don’t always cook the same. The people who built them in Naples told the owners of V Pizza that you should talk to them like they are real people to see if they will listen. Apparently, sometimes they do, and sometimes they don’t. That’s why each location has three ovens., This way, if Amore decides she doesn’t want to cook pizzas properly, they will simply use the other two ovens. Mama Mia!

The ovens aside, what also makes V pizzas a cut above is their dedication to using only authentic ingredients in their pies. That means shipping in 00 flour and Marzano tomatoes from Italy, along with only the finest Mozzarella DI Bufala. That is one of the hallmarks of V Pizza.

“We’re never going to skimp on quality to save a few dollars. That means we’re never going to stop importing Prosciutto DI Parma, which is aged for ten months in Italy.”

While the V in V Pizza stands for Veloci, which means quick in Italian, the partners are definitely not after a quick buck. Aside from making authentic pizzas and calzones, the menu also offers Bruschetta, Stromboli, Panini and oven-roasted chicken wings. Their 3 locations also offer wine and beer.

Of course, what would be an authentic Italian meal without Italian desserts? Cannoli, Tiramisu, and Gelato are there to add the perfect end to a perfect meal. The restaurant also offers daily lunch specials, along with lunch and dinner specials that change with the season. (Click here to check out their menu.)

With 3 locations in JAX, including San Marco, Mandarin, and JAX Beach, V Pizza offers you the taste of Naples without having to deal with the jet lag. Mangia!

Getting a Taste of the Big Easy is Easier Than You Think

Posted on Updated:

They call New Orleans the Big Easy. That being said, it wasn’t always easy to find a taste of the Big Easy in Jacksonville, Florida. That all changed when Copeland’s of New Orleans opened in JAX. Located at 4310 Southside Blvd. about a ½ mile south of Gate Parkway, the restaurant is a carbon copy of the original eatery that was started in Jefferson, Louisiana back in 1983.

When you walk into the Jacksonville location, you will think you have died and gone to Bourbon Street. That’s because the essence of Copeland’s revolves around comfort and cuisine. Just like the sleepy Southern town that started it all, Copeland’s restaurants offer a taste of New Orleans along with a casually festive atmosphere that friends and family alike will enjoy.

Of course, their Cajun cuisine is second to none. Everything at Copeland’s is made from scratch using only the finest of ingredients. And what a mouth-watering menu they have. A number of Big Easy appetizers are available to get the party started. In Nawlins, you don’t eat Cajun Popcorn at the movies. That’s because they are made of battered baby shrimp that are seasoned and fried to a crunch. The starters also include Crawfish Bread and Copeland’s Crab cakes, served with Remoulade Sauce.

Even their soups are a feast, with your choice of Corn & Crab Bisque, or Cajun Gumbo Ya Ya, the latter of which is loaded with shrimp and scallops.

If you didn’t think that Cajun cooking, extended to pasta, then you’re in for a surprise. Everything from Jambalaya Pasta and Crawfish Fettucine to Crab cakes with Shrimp Alfredo to Crab Stuffed Eggplant served with a side of angel hair topped with shrimp and crawfish au gratin will make your taste buds think that Mardi Gras has come early.

Then there are the classic Copeland’s entrees that include Shrimp & Catfish Creole, Blackened Redfish, Red Beans & Rice with your choice of Catfish or Andouille Sausage, or Eggplant Pirogue, just to name a few. If you’re into low country cuisine, the restaurant also offers a BBQ Shrimp Boil that includes boiled shrimp, roasted corn, and boiled potatoes in a garlic broth that will make you say, “Bring on the Zydeco player!”

If you’re into seafood, I highly recommend the Ricochet Catfish that is topped with pecans and Creole Meuniere sauce. The menu also offers a wide selection of steaks cooked to order, signature sandwiches (what would a trip to the Big Easy be without a PO’ boy?), and an array of cold salads and hot tasting plates for those of you who are watching their weight.

For the rest of you, don’t forget to leave room for dessert, because Copeland’s offers a number of sweet treats that you will want to savor along with a cup of New Orleans coffee. If you haven’t tried their Bananas Foster or White Chocolate Bread Pudding, you don’t know what you’re missing.

The bottom line is if you want to save yourself an 8-hour drive West on I-10 along with a Bourbon Street hangover, roll on over to Copeland’s of New Orleans, where it’s Mardi Gras every day.
